Accounts Overview

Accounts

Accounts are the foundation of TradeTorq. Each account represents a connection to one of your MT5 trading accounts at your broker.

How Accounts Work

When you add an MT5 account to TradeTorq:

  1. Your credentials are securely stored in AWS Secrets Manager
  2. A dedicated MT5 terminal is launched in the cloud for your account
  3. An Expert Advisor (EA) runs inside the terminal, maintaining a live connection
  4. Position data streams back to TradeTorq in real-time
  5. When you use Command Keys or automation, commands are sent to the EA for execution

Each account gets its own dedicated terminal — your accounts never share resources with other users.

Master Accounts

In TradeTorq, your trading accounts are added as Master accounts. A master account is the primary account you trade on and manage through the Command Center and Command Keys.

You can add multiple master accounts from different brokers and switch between them in the platform.

What You Need

To add an MT5 account, you'll need:

RequirementWhere to find it
Broker nameYour broker's name (e.g., Exness, ICMarkets)
Server nameFound in MT5 under File → Login, or in your broker's email
MT5 LoginYour MT5 account number (e.g., 12345678)
PasswordYour MT5 trading password (not the investor/read-only password)

Use your trading password

Make sure you use your trading password, not your investor (read-only) password. The investor password only allows viewing — TradeTorq needs the trading password to execute orders on your behalf.

Account Limits

The number of accounts you can connect depends on your subscription plan:

PlanAccounts
Lite1 master account
ProUp to 3 master accounts
PremiumUp to 10 master accounts

Each master account requires its own subscription or active trial.
