CLOSE 50%CLOSE %CLOSE WINSCLOSE LOSS

The first row of Command Keys handles closing positions — fully or partially, with optional filtering.

Close 50% (Close Half)

Reduces your total open position size by half, applied per layer.

How It Works

Each open position has its lot size cut by 50%. The reduction is applied to each individual position (layer), not to the total combined position.

Example with a single position:

  • You have 1 buy position of 0.10 lots
  • After Close 50%: 0.05 lots remain

Example with multiple layers:

  • You have 5 buy positions of 0.02 lots each (total: 0.10 lots)
  • After Close 50%: 5 positions of 0.01 lots each (total: 0.05 lots)
  • Each layer is halved individually

Odd Lot Rounding

If cutting a lot size in half produces an invalid value, TradeTorq rounds to the nearest acceptable lot size.

For example:

  • 0.03 lots ÷ 2 = 0.015 → rounded to 0.01 or 0.02 depending on the broker's minimum step size

Note

Close 50% is one of the most-used Command Keys. It's a quick way to de-risk a winning position by taking half off the table.

Close Custom %

Closes a user-defined percentage of your total open position size.

How It Works

  1. Click the CLOSE % button
  2. Enter your desired percentage (e.g., 25, 40, 70)
  3. Confirm the action

The specified percentage is applied proportionally across all open positions.

Example:

  • You have 0.20 lots total open
  • You choose to close 30%
  • 0.06 lots are closed, leaving 0.14 lots

Close Winners

Closes all positions currently in profit (positive floating P&L).

How It Works

TradeTorq filters your open positions and closes only those where:

  • Floating profit > 0

Positions with negative or zero P&L are left untouched.

Use case: You have 5 open positions — 3 are in profit and 2 are in loss. Close Winners closes only the 3 profitable ones, leaving the 2 losers open.

Close Losers

Closes all positions currently in loss (negative floating P&L).

How It Works

TradeTorq filters your open positions and closes only those where:

  • Floating profit < 0

Profitable positions are left untouched.

Use case: You want to cut your losses quickly while keeping your winning trades running. Close Losers removes only the losing positions.

Market conditions

All close actions execute at the current market price. During volatile markets or low liquidity, the actual close price may differ slightly from the displayed price (slippage).

Close All

Located in the Premium Actions row, Close All closes every open position regardless of profit or loss. It's the nuclear option — use it when you want to flatten your entire position.
