Insight Cards

Insight Cards

The four insight cards at the top of the Command Center give you an instant snapshot of your account's health. Each card updates in real-time as prices change and trades execute.

Balance

Shows your current account balance — the amount of money in your account excluding any floating profit or loss from open positions.

Your balance changes only when:

  • A position is closed (profit or loss is realized)
  • You deposit or withdraw funds at your broker
  • Swaps or commissions are applied

Equity

Your real-time equity — calculated as:

Equity = Balance + Floating P&L

This is the true value of your account at any moment. It fluctuates constantly as market prices change while you have open positions.

  • Equity > Balance → Your open positions are in profit overall
  • Equity < Balance → Your open positions are in loss overall
  • Equity = Balance → No open positions, or floating P&L is exactly zero

Why equity matters

Equity is the number that matters most for risk management. Your broker uses equity for margin calculations, and TradeTorq's Equity Lock feature monitors this value to protect your account.

MTM P&L (Mark-to-Market Profit & Loss)

Shows the total floating P&L of all your open positions combined. This is the difference between equity and balance.

The MTM P&L card also shows:

  • SL indicator — If you have an MTM stop-loss set, it shows as a red line at the loss threshold
  • TP indicator — If you have an MTM take-profit set, it shows as a green line at the profit threshold

These indicators correspond to the MTM P&L automation engine, which can automatically close all positions when your floating P&L reaches these thresholds.

Exposure

Displays your total open exposure — the combined lot size of all open positions.

For example:

  • 3 buy positions of 0.10 lots each = 0.30 lots total exposure
  • If you also have 2 sell positions of 0.05 lots = total shown may reflect net or gross exposure depending on display mode

This helps you quickly assess how much market risk you're carrying at any moment.

Value Animations

All four cards use animated transitions when values change:

  • Price flashes — Values briefly highlight in green (increase) or red (decrease) when they change
  • Smooth transitions — Numbers animate between old and new values for a fluid experience

This makes it easy to spot changes without staring at static numbers.
