Auto Breakeven
Auto Breakeven (Auto BE)
The Auto BE engine automatically moves your stop loss to breakeven once your position reaches a specified profit level. Once triggered, the position becomes risk-free — you can't lose money on it even if price reverses.
How It Works
- You set a trigger distance in pips
- The engine monitors your floating profit
- When profit reaches or exceeds the trigger, the SL is moved to breakeven
- The position is now risk-free
Example
- BUY XAUUSD at 2650.00
- Auto BE trigger: 20 pips
- When price reaches 2670.00 (20 pips profit) → SL automatically moves to 2650.00 (entry/breakeven)
- Even if price drops back, your SL at 2650 ensures you exit at breakeven (no loss)
Auto BE Triggered — BUY Example
Configuration
| Parameter | Description | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Trigger Pips | Profit in pips to trigger the breakeven move | 20 pips |
| Offset Pips | Optional: add pips above/below breakeven | 2 pips |
| Direction | BUY, SELL, or AUTO (detect from positions) | AUTO |
| Target | Move SL or TP to breakeven | SL (default) |
Offset Pips
The offset allows you to move the SL slightly beyond breakeven — either to guarantee a small profit or to account for spread.
Example with offset:
- Entry: 2650.00
- Offset: +3 pips
- SL moves to 2653.00 instead of 2650.00
- You're guaranteed at least 3 pips profit if stopped out
Target: SL or TP
By default, Auto BE moves the stop loss to breakeven. Optionally, you can set it to move the take profit to breakeven instead — useful when you want to ensure the trade closes at zero P&L as price returns to entry.
Setting Up Auto BE
- 1
Open the Auto BE modal
From the Command Keys grid, click AUTO BE, or go to the Automation section.
- 2
Set the trigger distance
Enter how many pips of profit should trigger the breakeven move (e.g., 20 pips).
- 3
Optional: set an offset
If you want the SL slightly above breakeven (for guaranteed profit), enter an offset value (e.g., 2 pips).
- 4
Select direction
Choose BUY, SELL, or AUTO. AUTO detects the direction from your open positions.
- 5
Activate
Click Activate. The engine starts monitoring immediately and will trigger when your profit condition is met.
After Auto BE Triggers
Once Auto BE has executed:
- Your SL is at breakeven (or breakeven + offset)
- The Auto BE engine for that symbol is marked as completed
- You can now set up a Trail SL to continue trailing from the breakeven level
- The position is risk-free — you can hold it without risk anxiety
The risk-free strategy
The most popular workflow:
- Open a position with a proper stop loss
- Activate Auto BE with a 15–25 pip trigger
- Once triggered, activate Trail SL to trail from breakeven
- Optionally set up Ladder TP for partial profit taking
This gives you a risk-free, trailing, partial-exit position — all automated.
History
All Auto BE actions are logged in the history tab, showing:
- When the trigger was hit
- The breakeven price the SL was moved to
- Whether the offset was applied
- The execution status (success/failure)
