Add an MT5 Account
Connect your MT5 trading account to TradeTorq to start managing your trades from the web dashboard.
Step-by-Step Guide
- 1
Open the Accounts page
From the sidebar, click Accounts. You'll see a list of your connected accounts (empty if this is your first time).
- 2
Click
Click the Add Account button in the top right corner. A form will open.
- 3
Select your broker
Choose your broker from the dropdown list. TradeTorq supports many popular MT5 brokers. If your broker isn't listed, contact support.
- 4
Select the server
After choosing your broker, select the correct server name from the dropdown. This must match exactly what you see in MT5.
To find your server name in MT5: - Open MT5 on your desktop - Go to File → Login to Trade Account - The server name is shown in the Server field
- 5
Enter your MT5 login
Type your MT5 account number (login ID). This is the numeric ID assigned by your broker (e.g.,
12345678). - 6
Enter your password
Enter your MT5 trading password. This is the password you use to log into MT5 for trading (not the investor/read-only password).
- 7
Select account type
Choose the account type variant that matches your broker account: - Standard — Default for most accounts - PRO — Professional accounts with different symbol naming - ECN — Electronic Communication Network accounts - RAW — Raw spread accounts - Other variants as applicable
- 8
Save the account
Click Add Account to save. TradeTorq will: 1. Securely store your credentials 2. Launch a dedicated MT5 terminal for your account 3. Connect to your broker's server 4. Start streaming position data
This process takes 30–60 seconds. You'll see the account status change as it connects.
Connection time
The first connection may take up to a minute as your dedicated terminal is provisioned and started. Subsequent reconnections are much faster.
After Adding Your Account
Once your account shows a Healthy status (green indicator), you're ready to:
- Start a free trial — Go to Subscription to activate your 7-day trial
- Open the Command Center — Navigate to the Command Center to see your live positions
- Refresh symbols — TradeTorq will automatically load your broker's available symbols
Common Issues
Wrong server selected
If your account shows an Auth Error status, double-check that you selected the correct server. Different account types at the same broker may use different servers.
Invalid credentials
Make sure you're using the trading password, not the investor password. Also verify that your MT5 login number is correct.
Broker not listed
If your broker isn't in the dropdown, it may not be supported yet. Contact TradeTorq support to request adding your broker.
Don
If you change your MT5 password at your broker, you'll need to update it in TradeTorq as well. Go to Accounts, click on the account, and update the password field.
